Our long waited Japan trip at last comes true...
Glad to meet his friend in Japan on the last nite of our stay. We took the 11.30pm flight NH 901 at T1 on 12 June 2008. Thanks Yin Chin, Matthew came to send us off. By the time, we board the plane, Daryl oready tired and fell asleep even before the flight took off, phew. Day 1 - Tokyo/OsakaWe reached Narita Airport on 13 Jun 2008 at ard 7am (local time) and immediately started our day tour. Visited the oldest temple in Tokyo, Asakusa Kannon temple, is the Guan Yin temple in Tokyo. As we were told, will expect late buffet lunch, so we tried their MacDonalds' which has some unique item and taste good. We had an hour shopping at Ueno flee market after lunch and that was where we glad 2 cartons of titbits for relatives. On the way to the domestic airport to catch to flight to Osaka, we passed by the Imperial Palace too.We took the 5.30pm flight to Osaka, had our dinner and check in to our hotel, Hyatt Regency Osaka. What a tiring day for all and tomorrow will by our Universal Studio day. We stayed in this hotel for 2 nites.Day 2Woke up early for breakfast in the hotel and rush to USJ when they opened at 10pm. We stayed there till 4 pm and enjoyed ourselves with some of the popular rides, picture taking with the cartoon characters and lunch (hotdog sandwiches). We proceed to Shisaibashi for 2 hrs shopping and we bought 2 BBL bags in Daimaru. We were took busy shopping, therefore no pix taken at all. Hahahaha.... Day 3After bf, we proceed to Kyoto to visit the famous Kinkakuji "Golden Pavilion". Next we visited the Nishijin Textile Centre where we enjoy a short kimono fashion show (abt 10 mins) then had our lunch there. Chopsticks for Kx and An An is bought here too, busy getting souvenir, totally didn't watch the fashion show (so guilty). Next was a long journey (4 hrs) to Toyohashi where we spent a nite there. This is a small town but all import cars have to passby this town for imspection. We had buffet dinner in the hotel.Day 4Another early day because we need to catch the 8.40am bullet train to Tokyo. Daryl was so excited at the train station with all the busy trains passing by. By the time he board the train (15 mins ride only), he fell asleep liao, battery totally FLAT. We proceed to Owakudani Valley "Boiling Vally, where sulphurous fumes rise from cervices in rocks. Is so smelly that Daryl thought he had poo, hahahah...so funny. Next, we proceed to 5th station of Mt Fuji, the moment we alight the coach, we all rush to the small little stall selling bbq octopus and corn, yummy. Took a few nice photo too. Tonite, we stayed in a traditional hotel and all have to dress in Yukata to enjoy the traditional Nabe dinner in the hotel. After an hr rest, we all proceed to the hot spring bath "onsen" within the hotel. For 15 mins, I already surrender but Daryl still enjoying himself. After the hot spring bath, all of us had a good sleep on the tatami :)Day 5TOKYO DISNEYLAND..... at last. We cheong for all the rided highlighted by our tour guide. Daryl was too tired that he cried throughout the Peter Pan's ride :(. We had our pizza lunch, bought souvenirs and foto with some cartoon characters before we leave the Disneyland. After our abalone chinese dinner, we check in to Keio Tokyo hotel. Is a tiring day for Daryl, fell asleep on the way to the hotel and woke up 2 hrs later to welcome his S'pore fren - Boo Boo and platoon. Day 6After bf, all cheong for the last min shopping in shinjuku, then back to hotel at 1pm (without taking lunch) to catch the coach to airport. More shopping at the AIRPORT, hahahaha...till Daryl fell asleep. Phew he slept throughout the take off and landing again. HOME SWEET HOME AT 11.30PM 18 JUN 2008....
